Miss Trimble's Cottage

You'll never forget your trip to Miss Trimble's Cottage!

Miss Trimble's Cottage is named after the first ever resident Elizabeth Trimble who lived here in the 1850's. It's the wing of Dene Lodge, a beautiful Victorian "Gentleman's residence" in the parish of Morwenstow. Just a few minutes from the dramatic Coast Path and midway between Bude and Clovelly, it is fabulously placed for exploring this stunning area. Endless walks and gorgeous beaches are all very close, so dogs are welcome to join you on your holidays.  If you plan to bring more than one pet please let us know.

The cottage is fully equipped and we live on site in case there is anything you need that we haven't thought of.

You have your own kitchen and amazing bathroom with a sumptuous freestanding bath and a separate shower as well as a beautiful bedroom and living room with open fire. The living room also has a comfortable double sofa bed for extra guests so it will sleep up to 4 people.  Because of the steep narrow staircase we don't recommend it for anyone with mobility issues or small children.  There is also a travel cot and high chair available on request.

As well as the house you are welcome to enjoy the extensive communal gardens and relax in the summerhouse or Hobbit House!  You will also have access to a magical wood-fired hot tub in the woods where you can relax at the end of a day spent exploring and listen to the owls hooting nearby.

In case you don't feel like cooking the village coffee shop across the road does delicious cooked breakfasts and lunches to takeaway using local ingredients.

A 3 minute drive and you will reach the dramatic Coast Path, while 10 minutes by road will reach Duckpool and Sandymouth beaches. Morwenstow is a picturesque corner of Cornwall that borders North Devon, and there are numerous woodland and cliff top walks nearby.

A new shop has opened just across the road so you can now get supplies without having to drive! There's also a traditional Cornish pub and a wonderful tea shop just five minutes away by car or 30 minutes by foot.
